Is
the hotel liable for stored baggage?
Neither
the hotel, nor the travelling agent are liable for your baggage. You
as the owner of your possessions are not required to leave your bags
at any certain point. It is a free choice that you have. Because it
is your choice where you leave your bags, a hotel is not liable for
your baggage being lost, misplaced or stolen.
Even if there is a
special room for your bags, the hotel is still not liable for its
loss. Some hotels specifically state, that they do take
responsibility for your things. Those hotels are liable for the loss
of your baggage. But you must ask the particular hotel in advance
what their regulations are.
