Symptoms of Withdrawal Can Be Life-Threatening

Symptoms of withdrawal can be life-threatening

Symptoms of withdrawal can be life-threatening, depending on the substance the addiction is related to. Withdrawal symptoms are common with alcohol, sedatives and hypnotics. People report a broad spectrum of symptoms, as well as more or less apparent signs and degrees of severity of withdrawal symptoms. It is assumed that the symptoms occur, because the body attempts to preserve some stability. Therefore, the body reacts to the missing substance as a warning of a physical imbalance, a discrepancy created between the times the substance was induced versus times when the substance is lacking. Addiction to substances makes the body perceive an actual need for the drug, once it has developed a certain degree of tolerance to it - meaning once the body gets used to the drug, it can't do without.

Symptoms of withdrawal can be life-threatening

The imbalance between the current and the substance-induced bodily state shows as a behavioural change in the person. The process of experiencing such an imbalance begins when blood and tissue concentration of the substance declines. To avoid the unpleasantness of this state of imbalance, the person is likely to take the substance to feel relief from these symptoms or to avoid their existence in the first place. Withdrawal can create an incredibly intense strain on the body. Severe withdrawal symptoms are to be handled only under medical supervision, to not cause a physiological overload of the body's capabilities for survival.

How To Predict A Person's Career Choice

How To Predict A Person's Career Choice

People have a strong preference for careers that match their skills and interests. When someone chooses to follow a particular education or job type, she will choose based on her abilitues, values and based on the reflection of herself within that career.

Generally, people can be separated into 5 types or mix-types with combinations of a couple of the following types:
1. Realistic type: The realistic type wants things to be practical and technical. He wants to have an idea and to be able to execute that idea into action.
2. Investigative type: This type is intellectually oriented. She wants to start researching topics and to be able to draw conclusions from her research.
3. Conventional type: This type wants to follow a code or a set of rules in order to perform to his best potential.
4. Enterprising type: This type wants to take the risk upon her to create something and to make something out of herself, to build it from the first steps to the complete foundation herself.
5. Artistic type: This type enjoys creativity and is usually talented with learning languages as an experssion of his creativity. Using such creativity is a challenge and its derivative is motivation.
6. Social type: This type enjoys being surrounded by several people. The larget the network, the better. She builds a give and take relationship with her environment and uses that frequently for advancing in life.

Based on which type of jobs represents the type of person someone is the most, he will choose one career type over another. Combinatory types have a preference for choosing combinatory jobs, such as composing music with technology. Career choice advisors use this strategy (among others) to create such matches and propose them to their clients.

Contemplating a Career Change

Contemplating a Career Change

There may come a point in life, at which we contemplate changing our career path. The point of contemplation is to eventually form a decision route. It is important to know why we being thinking about a change in the first place, to determine what it is that makes us want to take a chance on change.

1. The Demands Matching:
The demands of a job and the abilities that we have can experience a matching struggle. Our skills and abilities may be too few for the career we are trying to hold on to. This leads to psychological exhaustion or otherwise named the burn-out syndrome. Or our abilities and skills are so extensive, that they overqualify us for the path chosen. The lack of challenges and the little creative space can also take a toll on out mental well-being. This dissonance between what we do and what is appropriate for our skills generates contemplating about a career change.

2. The Harmony Matching:
Careers expect us to be able and to want to learn continuously. Many require social competence skills and a steady self-esteem. Having a harmonious synchronization between how much confidence a job requires and how much we actually have, is what we experience as feeling balanced. Being able to learn and being taught a variety of skills for our repertoire is also pivital to being satisfied with the career choice. Many careers require extensive social competence skills that we may not be able to keep up with. The sense of harmony comes from a balance between what we can do and what is expected of us. If the balance is off for a prolonged period of time, changing a career path is considered as a "survival" option.

3: The Needs Matching:
Human beings have a need for their needs to be attended to. A career path is ideally to offer a way to actualize oneself, to feel completely fulfilled. If there is no discrepancy between our needs and our career, what we do is who we are. But if there is a discrepancy, there is a strong need to get rid of that discrepancy. After all, what is the point of having a career path or a life for that matter, if it does not make us want to work voluntarily. People often leave their jobs behind, because they couldnt put their creativity to work and use all the skills that they have. One cannot feel fulfilled if he is not allowed to develop to his full potential. Changing a career is therefore a prominent thought, once the actualization process is severely impeded by the current career path.
The basic point is that we evolve and so does a career path. That process may reach a point where the evolvements have taken opposite directions from one another, making the fit between the individual and the career unprofitable for both. To derive motivation from ourselves and from life, we require intellectual, social and material revenue. Therefore, the aim is to determine our current status on that revenue and to find a way to increase that profit margin. The more imbalance we experience in the matching factors, the more pressed for time we feel to make a decision. The decision is made once that imbalance can be substituted with a career choice that promises more potential profit.

How To Get A Job Promotion Faster

How To Get A Job Promotion Faster

You would most likely reckon, that merit leads to getting a job promotion. In many cases this is true, but often merit is taken for granted. If you become the reliable worker over several years and you are working well, you will often not get promoted - not because you are not excellent at what you do, but because giving you another position would change the coprporate structure. If the corporate structure is functional, people hesitate to make changes. So rather than waiting on merit to maybe or maybe not yield results, you can take the matter into your own hands.
According to psychological studies on career path determination, there are three factors that strengthen the perception of a worker being someone worth promoting quickly.

1. Mentoring:
The basic goal is to work closely with someone of high reputation and rank. This person is influential within the business and can often change other people's perception about you in a very short time. What you would be looking for is that this reputable person shows the willingness to teach and to promote your interests, as well. He knows the "secrets" and his years of experience give a stronger color to your years of experience, even if you barely have any. Stick with that person, listen and be loyal. Your reputation will quickly go from being anyone, to being his assistant, to being his partner. Once you are perceived as an equal work-force as your mentor, you will be next in line for the promotion you seek.

2. Networking:
Even if you are the hardest working being on the face of the earth, nobody will ever know about it if you do not establish a network around you. You will be the preferred choice, if someone knows you, just because he knows what to expect of you. To promote a worker, nobody enjoys taking risks - not at such an important position. Therefore, it is in your best interest to make yourself known. This increases the trust other people have in you greatly, because people think that knowing you makes you predictable and therefore a safe choice. Not only is it important to establish a social network around you, but it is equally important to use it. Dont be shy to ask for something and dont be shy to give back. The more give and take you can build, the easier things come to you.

3. Physical Attractiveness:
Psychological studies have clearly proven that physically attractive people are preferred as candidates for a promotion. This is not purposefully done. It's just that physically attractive people apply a sense of professionalism and charm to the people around them, which in turn leads to being remembered and therefore being considered for a promotion. Physical attractiveness is not about being pretty or not. Everyone can be beautiful. Physical attractiveness is about the will to pay attention to detail. The first thing to pay attention to is being clean - everywhere, from head to toe. The second thing is to think about the image of your job. As much as we love Dr.House for calling stereotypes out for battle, this is not the real world. In the real world, you cannot be a lawyer with wearing baggy pants and sneakers. In the real world, you cannot convince a customer that you are worth your weight, if you dont wear a polished outfit. Everything accumulates to what we perceive as physical attractiveness.

Now you have three ways to work on getting that promotion. Get up early enough to get that physical attrativeness part covered. Go to work with a smile and make friends. And finally, choose your mentor wisely. Good luck!

Increasing Revenue with Successful Recruitment Marketing

Increasing Revenue with Successful Recruitment Marketing

One prerequisite for a successful business is to constantly keep in mind, that your revenue is highly co-dependend on the people you hire. Hiring someone is not just about checking for credentials and interviewing them. The recruitment process must start long before that.

Everything, from the way the job application is constructed to the job applicant himself, needs to be carefully planned. It does not take much to declare bancrucy, but it does need a lot of work to maintain and increase the current revenue stats. The goal of recruitment managing is not only to find a suitable employee for a position, but to create the perfect fit between the applicant and the job and keeping that person productively employed for a long time to come.

Therefore, successful recruitment marketing matches the applicant to the open position or the position to the applicant. The more successful this pairing is, the more you maintain your current revenue and the better chances you have at increasing that revenue.

There are four types of pairings that must be taken into consideration, to create the perfect match between the position and the employee:

1. Person Organization Fit

This measure is all about the employee and the structure of your business. You have defined certain values and goals for your company. To determine how good the fit is between the future employee and the company, you cross check your company values against the person's values. The characteristics of your company must match the ones of the person as closely as possible. This part influences employee loyality greatly. Worst case szenario in simple terms:  if the characteristics dont match, your employee is not loyal and even creates harm to your business. However, with a great fit the employee will fully understand the goals to be attained, support them and protect them. Many companies have a psychologist on their staff, who is testing peoples values against the values of a company before hiring them.

2. Person Job Fit

The point here is that you want to match the future employee's skills, wishes and expectations with the tasks the job demands. The goal here is for your hire to be able to fulfill the job demands with his knowledge and skills. This pairing is important, because you dont want to generate frustration within your business. Frustration leads to high degrees of aggression or resignation. You dont want to over-work someone, and you also dont want to make the job unchallenging. If a persons skills are inadequate for the job, the mental overload is likely to lead to resignation or anger. If your employee is unchallenged, she might seek out challenging opportunities that do not involve a company's best interests and exhibit frustration. By finding a good person job fit, you reduce the risk of having several staff changes.

3. Person Group Fit

People within one job are connected via several common goals and expectations. This interconnectivity requires for the person you wish to hire to match your current employees. One bad fit can unbalance the whole team structure. Having a good atmosphere within the teams and subgroups of your business, is the most important factor when it comes to employee satisfaction. Employee satisfaction is greatly determined by who we have to work with. The more pleasant or neutral the interaction, the better the output.

4. Person Supervisor Fit

The employee has to match her supervisor as best as possible. Similar to the group fit where the atmosphere of the interactions determine the work output, so does the fit with the supervisor. A productive relationship can have a great impact on final revenue. You know when this fit is not working immediately, when an employee considers his supervisor as incompetent. If a supervisor's direction cannot be followed, productivity splashes into all directions, instead of focusing on the current goals. The fit is appropriate, when it is within the supervisors capabilities to lead and when the employee is willing to follow instructions. Usually, certain managing types correspond to certain employee personalities. Those are matched before the final hiring process is complete.

These pre-recruitment stages are vital to the success of your business. Your goal is to allocate ressources productively. Your employee is a ressource.

How To Protect Yourself From Horse Riding Injuries

How To Protect Yourself From Horse Riding Injuries

Protecting yourself with the clothes you are wearing can make the difference between  a small and a serious injury. To protect yourself, you need to have a complete riding outfit, from head to toe. The outfit is quite expensive, but it is very much worth the expense. Several people on our world owe their lives to secure riding helmets, boots and riding pants.

Wear a riding helmet:

Wear a certified horse-riding helmet, with a good amount of padding. This will save you from having severe concussions. Make sure that you are wearring it correctly and that it fits your head exactly. We all have different head-sizes, so try it out before you buy it. It should move slightly, but not too much. When you tie your helmet underneath your jaw, make sure that you tie it not too losely and not too tightly. Also, it is best to have a spare one in your locker. We often times sweat while riding and the sweat seeps into the padding. Use your two helmets interchangeably from week to week, to preserve them longer.

How To Protect Yourself From Horse Riding Injuries

Wear safe riding clothes:

Wear trousers specifically designed for horse back riding. Because of their badding on the inner side of the knee and their general texture, they will help you stay in the saddle longer. Other kind of pants increase the risk for you to slip out of the saddle too easily. Slipping out of the saddle can be very dangerous. You are at a huge risk for landing underneath the horse and getting tampled. You can avoid this risk by up to 95% by wearing riding pants!

How To Protect Yourself From Horse Riding Injuries

Wear certified horse-riding boots:

Boots made specifically for horseback riding increase your safety, because they do not get easily stuck in the stirrups. Other kind of shoes are not suited, because or example sneakers may trap your ankle in the stirrups. Other shoes trap the back part of the foot in the stirrups. This can result in a very painful and even life-threatening experience, because once the foot is stuck and the rider falls, he gets dragged along the ground along wth the moving horse. The horse panics and makes is all the more dangerous for serious injuries to happen, especially to the head, ribs and ankles. Prefer non-zipped over zipped boots.
